Nanak Naam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbat Da Bhala

CONT...initiate a new Spiritual Humanitarian Mission.
Darshan Vasdev's first real
spiritual revelation took place in 1966 when he was just 13 years old. His Holiness
at that time decided to reject the calling, for he felt he was too young and was
not fully prepared.
THE SECOND CALLING -THE DAY OF ENLIGHTENMENT
His Holiness was just 17 years old, he
had recently moved to Jallandhar to begin work as an office clerk in the finance
department of an Engineering plant. On 9th of July 1971, whilst at work, His Holiness
had a vision of great spiritual intensity. The Lord spoke to His Holiness and said
"Son, this is not the task that I have sent you to perform. You have many great tasks
to perform, for humanity. You are sent to give my divine message, to awaken souls
to the truth, to heal the sick and show them the path to spirituality." On 15th August,
1971 His Holiness performed his first spiritual discourse. It was on this day that
His Holiness changed his name from Darshan Lal Vasudev to Darshan Das. Das means
to serve, His Holiness came to serve humanity. From that moment forward His Holiness's
spiritual duties commenced and that auspicious day became known as, The Day of Enlightenment
(Joyti Diwas) within the mission.
A higher power sent from the divine Lord, in this
dark age of Kalyug. He came to liberate souls from the illusion of Maya. By bestowing
the sacred jewel of Naam-Guru mantra. He himself a Puran Yogi who has accomplished
all sadhana to become one with the Lord. The divine Naam became flesh to unite souls
to the Lord.
PERFECTLY ENLIGHTENED SPIRITUAL MASTER
From 1971, His Holiness Satguru
Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das began bestowing Naam, the Holy Guru Mantra to thousands
of people. His Holiness placed great significance on the importance of reciting the
Holy Guru Mantra. His Holiness himself meditated regularly, in 1973 His Holiness
constructed his first Sacred Dhuna Sahib at Batala Dera Sahib. The Dhuna, has approximately
been around since time began. Yogis and great Saints and holy men used to light camp
fires in the evening- which became known as the Dhuna. Before the Dhuna fire, these
Holy men would perform their meditation practices and recite Holy Mantras and Kirtan.
In the Indian culture the sacred fire, is seen as a Devi-Devta God, which with its
divine power of heat, purifies the body of a spiritual practitioner and keeps the
negative power of Kal away. The Sacred Dhuna Sahib plays a significant role in Das
Dharam. It is the divine spiritual empowering axis within which, resides the power-
shakti of Lord Shiv. Lord Shiv being the divine Lord of meditation and bhakati.
His
Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das then went onto establish a second Dhuna
Sahib at Loni Dera Sahib. The Sacred Dhuna Sahib at Loni, is located within Sachkhand
and is beautifully maintained. His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das always
emphasized how important it was for a spiritual practitioner to recite Naam, the
Holy Guru Mantra. His Holiness and devotees of Das Dharam meditate at this sacred
site regularly.
His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das came to this world,
to bestow the sacred jewel of Guru Mantra Yoga, upon devotees of Das Dharam. He himself
was a Puran Yogi had perfected the art of meditation. He inspired thousands to practice
and meditate upon the Holy Guru Mantra. He began a global movement of promoting spiritual
awareness, of the sacred spiritual tradition of Guru Mantra Yoga Through his spiritual
discourses His Holiness would passionately speak on the subject matter- of enlightenment.
His Holiness would say "Enlightenment is real, and that the seed of enlightenment
plants in every single being. No matter who you are, or what your background is.
You can in the right circumstances and with the correct training realize the true
nature of yourselves. That which is deathless, never changing and eternally pure."
That was his promise to all devotees of Das Dharam.
The Establishment of Dera Sahibs
His
Holiness’s spiritual duties had commenced with great vigour and enthusiasm. He travelled
to many towns and cities around Punjab performing spiritual discourses. In 1973 His
Holiness established the first Dera Sahib at Batala, Punjab. His Holiness travelled
extensively and eventually his travels took him, to DELHI.
On 30th January 1977, In
Ghaziabad, UP, India, His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das established the
second Dera Sahib. Which became known as Loni Dera Sahib. Loni Dera Sahib soon became
a thriving centre for the spiritual community. Regular spiritual discourses and kirtan
were performed at Loni. There are many stories told of miracle healing taking place
at Loni Dera Sahib. It was in the grounds of this sacred Dera Sahib, that on the
16th February, 1980 His Holiness founded Das Dharam.
By 1979 His Holiness began to
travel abroad, to the United Kingdom, preaching the divine message of the Lord. Congregation
grew to thousands due to the frequent trips His Holiness made abroad. So therefore
there became a need for a third Dera Sahib. It was in September of 1982 that His
Holiness first opened the gates to the third Dera Sahib in Handsworth Birmingham,
England. From there the divine message of Das Dharam reached Canada, America, Europe
and Kenya.

THE VISIONARY
Spiritual Masters never usually speak of things to come, foretelling future events.
When they do speak it is usually in riddles like Nostrdramus. However, one day in
1986 His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das was in an enlightened mood and
was sitting with a few devotees when the subject was drawn towards world events.
His Holiness at that time prophesied the changes that would occur in the world in
the foreseeable future. His Holiness prophesied that in the early 1990's America
and Russia would unite in a significant way resulting in the end of the cold war.
His Holiness also spoke of the changes that would occur in Europe. He emphasized
that Europe would be facing difficult times by the mid 1990's. His Holiness prophesied
that the Berlin wall would come down. He spoke of the "Green house effect" and how
the climate was going to change and become much warmer within the U.K. and more cooler
within India. All these prophesies and predictions were recorded on audio tapes in
1986 and came true as time passed.
MAN OF PEACE
To many people, His Holiness can primarily be seen as a social reformer. A new voice,
with a new thought, a new vision which he brought forth to the people. His voice
gave strength, faith and courage to the weak and disillusioned. His Holiness Satguru
Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das was the true voice of his time. He was in the league of
thinking of the likes of Gautam Budha and Kabir. He uprooted many malpractices and
superstitions from society and criticized inhumancustoms i.e. castism, untouchability,
violence, drug-addiction and the dowry system within India. He symbolized the renaissance
of social justice in this contemporary world. He wanted the progression of humanity.
So all could work for the betterment of society. His Holiness would inspire people
to change, through his invigorating speeches and teachings. He was a lion that held
the divine light of truth in his hands. He was fearless in what he spoke and taught.
His Holiness was a man of peace and believed in maintaining peace. The white uniform
he adorned symbolised the peace, devotees of Das Dharam from this day adorn the same
white uniform. The white uniform of Das Dharam symbolises peace for the whole entire
world, for that was His Holiness's goal for humanity.
His Holiness had a deep passion
for his motherland India. He is quoted in saying, "To love one's country is the adoration
of the Almighty" More so, His Holiness was totally against bigotry, fanaticism and
extremism. He wanted the progression of humanity, of all nationalities so all could
work for the betterment of society and have a peaceful world. His message of non-violence,
peace and communal harmony had raised the eye brows of Sikh extremists. Ultimately
their aggravation ended in the sacrifice of a magnanimous Saint.
"On the 16th October 1987, His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das attended the opening of the 100th Abbyfield house by Prince Charls in Camberwell, South East London. His Holiness had sponsored the opening and refurbishment of an Abbey Field house for the elderly."
By 1987, His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das, was working tirelessly in the United Kingdom. The political situation within India had reached a political climax. His Holiness had spoken out against, suppression, terrorism and fundamentalism. Sadly on11th of November,1987 His Holiness's life came to a tragic end, whilst answering spiritual questions put forward by devotees in Dormers Wells High School, Southall in the United Kingdom. His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das, Baba Satwant and Chacha Joga Singh Ji were shot and killed by two Sikh extremists, who opposed His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das’s spiritual message of peace, love and non-violence. The sacrifice His Holiness Satguru Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das made, pacified the anger and rage of the extremists. The sacrifice of a Saint brought peace to the world!
